I know I’ve been neglecting our blog a little but I wanted to let you know that this past week we’ve had the highest number of vistors to our blog since we started blogging just a few years ago! Whoa! We love having you stop by to see what’s going on at our studio and now with school starting I should be able to start posting more of our awesome senior photo shoots. Plus, we’ve been photographing lots of kids and a few maternity photo shoots that have been very exciting as well.

We often get asked if we take sports pictures for senior portraits. I guess it’s a fair question since we don’t show a lot of sports type shots in our magazine or web site. Why? Well, I sometimes feel that the sports shots take a little away from my incredible seniors and I really work hard to make sure my seniors are the center of attention! But when they do bring in sports gear or a car or whatever, I also work extra hard to get them something that is just not your average, boring, typical sports shot. I love to go the extra mile for these kids and I thought I should show you just a few of the cool shots we got of these kids and the sports they love.

We just can’t stand the excitement around our studio and just had to take a break from working on orders to show you a few more of our awesome seniors! Many of you know us personally and know how very “personal” our photography business is to us. And we are just so proud to show off these amazing kids and their incredible photo shoots. Some of these are sneak peeks that even they haven’t seen yet. Enjoy!

Here is just a tiny sample of some of the beautiful and great looking seniors we have been photographing this summer! Just keep watching for more and more of these great kids. These images are from their portfolio covers so I just quickly got the web ready for your viewing pleasure. If you are one of the seniors we have photographed we hope to get one of yours posted over the next few months but it’s almost impossible to post everyone’s images to if you don’t get out here, don’t hold it against me!

Things are really buzzing at the studio, we’ve been shooting so many incredible seniors this summer! But where are their pictures? Where’s the sneak peeks? What gives?

Well at the moment they are buried in our computer network just waiting for me to find some time to bring them to life. And trust me, I WANT to get in there and bring em out for everyone to see. We’ve been taking so many creative and fun and well, just mind blowing shots of these kids that everyone is having so much fun seeing what we can create together. But the truth is we’re so busy shooting and proofing and taking care of our amazing clients that we just have not had any time to work on images for the blog. This is a great problem to have and thanks to all of you who tell your friends and neighbors and family members about us, we are having a super busy year! Yeah!

I think this coming weekend I’m going to be working on orders and should be able to put a few of those images up on the blog. Plus, Stacey is going to have to get on here and tell you about her new and exciting children’s boutique that she opened last week in our building! You have to come down and check it out, she’s already selling out of certain items and she’s only been open for a week! She did a fantastic job of selecting toys and gifts and clothes to sell and she’s worked hard to make sure she’s got something in all price ranges too.

OK, time to do another photo shoot but I felt bad we haven’t been updating our blog and we have a big following and we apologize to everyone for slack’n at our blog’n! But it’s all your fault since you’ve be instrumental in our success! Thank you so much!

What an awesome wedding in Mexico! Here are lots of images from Jeff and Aimee’s wedding in Mexico and the reception here in Minnesota after they got back. I’m not going to say much and just let you enjoy the images. I probably posted too many but there were so many beautiful images of Jeff and Aimee and the wedding party I had a very difficult time just narrowing down to this many.

IMPORTANT NOTE! We don’t shoot weddings! Really. We photographed Jeff and Aimee’s wedding because they are friends of ours and who could pass up a chance to shoot in Mexico! We also shot one more wedding in June of some other friends of ours but that was our last and final wedding. Anyway, enjoy the images! Congratulations Jeff and Aimee!

Summer is here and things have sure heated up! I just wanted to let everyone know we are crazy busy and honestly we are trying to adjust to all the wonderful people who have been choosing us for their photo shoots! As you may know Rachael is interning with us this summer, you’ll see her on some of our photo shoots and sometimes answering the phone. In addition we’ve hired Jessica to help us out with the overwhelming phone calls we’ve been getting as well as doing a lot of digital work for us such a prepping the photo shoots for our proof book portfolios.

We know everyone loves to see pictures and after we get a little more caught up we should be posting sneak peeks much more often. Just as a side note, based on how things are going we could be completely booked up for ALL our high school senior sessions by mid July! No kidding! We only have so many photo shoots we can do since I’m the only photographer and with the number of bookings we are doing each day, I am predicting that if you call later in July we just might not have any openings left. Wow! Thank you to everyone who has or will be giving us this wonderful opportunity to photograph you for such an important milestone in your life. We promise we’ll make you look incredible!

Hello it’s Stacey…I know I know you don’t often hear from me since Mark is always hogging this blog! JUST KIDDING. Really though I just wanted to say what a fun time we had with Brenna & her Mom & Grandmother when they were here. Mom wanted some fun new updated pictures of Brenna & I think Mark captured Brenna’s true beauty inside & out. Brenna has a great sense of style and Mark really enjoyed their session together. Check out just a few of the incredible photographs of Brenna. Mom you are going to have a hard time picking. YIKES! We hope you love this sneak peek. Both Mark & I think they are FABULOUS (that’s a Stacey word not a Mark word) hee hee!!! Let us know what ya think. We love getting comments on the blog so don’t be shy.

Warm turquoise waters, a white sandy beach and gentle ocean breezes…all make the perfect setting for Jeff and Aimee’s beautiful wedding in Mexico! Yea! Stacey, Olivia and I are heading off to Playa del Carmen to photograph their wedding.  We’ll be gone from June 2nd through the 11th. I know, I know, it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it!

We don’t normally photograph weddings but who could pass up an opportunity to shoot a beautiful wedding on the white sands of Playa del Carmen? Not us! And Jeff and Aimee have become good friends of ours as we have been working on the details of this once-in-a-lifetime photo shoot. In fact, Aimee has asked our little Olivia to be the flower girl! She can’t wait to wear her “princess dress” on the beach as she calls it.

We’re also hoping to get an opportunity to do a trash the dress photo shoot. If you’re not familiar with what that is…well, it’s really about taking creative photographs after the wedding when we don’t have to be quite so concerned with keeping the dress perfectly clean. Imagine a gorgeous sunset and a stunning bride and groom laying together on the warm sandy beach as the waves roll in around them all while we capture these very beautiful and intimate moments. As a photographer this is a scene made in heaven. We’ll have lots of pictures to post on our blog when we get back!

In the meantime, our new best friend and intern Rachael will be very busy at the studio taking calls and meeting with prospective clients. She will be there Tue-Fri from 10am - 5pm. Hey everybody! Please give it up for Rachael! Whoo Whoo!

Stacey and I are just so excited to have Rachael joining us for the summer that we can’t stand it! She is going to be interning with us this summer. Rachael plans to attend college this fall with an emphasis in photography. She has this wonderful, incredible personality that you’ll just love. A perfect fit for our studio! She actually was one of our seniors from the class of 2008 so if you want to find out what kind of an experience she had, just ask her. 

Over the past year we’ve had many, many requests from students wanting to do an intern with us. They were all super kids but it really takes the right kind of person to be able to put up with my crazy attention to details and I also needed someone who didn’t have the same personality as me (one of me is enough!) but someone who’s personality was really more of a compliment (like my awesome wife Stacey). And Rachael was the one who really stood out. So congratulations to Rachael and welcome to our family!
